Description

It is due homage to the two founding brothers of the company, fathers of the current members. Very exclusive wine with a limited annual edition.

In the 2016 vintage there was a significant change in the genesis of this wine, the Sangiovese was released from the Merlot which until the 2015 vintage faithfully accompanied it, the vinification was assisted with much imagination: no bunch of the Sangiovese “chosen” di Spanda, a vineyard located at 600 m above sea level, was de-stemmed or crushed on arrival in the cellar.

The wine embodies the fantasy of which he is a son, structurally it has a velvety texture, as we had never encountered, supported by a non-trivial acid thorn, at the nose are the flowers, broom and iris in the foreground, followed by the fruity juicy that refers to strawberry, pomegranate and sweet citrus.

Grape vine: 100% Sangiovese.

Growing area: Radda in Chianti Spanda vineyard.

 Training sistem: spurred cordon.

Harvest: in the first days of October, the bunches are selected, harvested by hand and placed in small boxes to maintain their integrity until they arrival in the cellar.

Vinification and ageing: once in the cellar the grapes are placed in small tanks where the whole bunch alcoholic fermentation starts with indigenous yeasts. Manual punching down and pumping over ensure adequate extraction of the noble parts of the grapes.

The 2016 engineer spent his elevage for 18 months in wood, 12 months in a small cement vat and 12 months in the bottle before being sold.
